DAFNE is a not for profit organisation. DAFNE is a Collaborative programme and the central administration team is hosted by Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust.

It has been suggested that DAFNE is expensive in both terms of setting up and cost per patient. However, compared with other programmes, the "extras" are virtually all associated with QA and audit activities, which are required by any educational intervention in keeping with the key criteria. It is therefore essential to understand what is included, or indeed excluded, in that cost.

The costs of training associated with DAFNE are further explained in the following DAFNE Fact Sheets:

Fact Sheet Four - Healthcare Professional Training

Fact Sheet Five - Cost

Fact Sheet Six - Cost per patient

Fact Sheet Ten - What does the Central Contribution Cover?
