Why DAFNE? Meeting the Key Criteria

DAFNE is cited as an example of high quality structured education in NICE guidance on the use of patient education programmes in diabetes.¹

'For Type 1 diabetes, the impact of this guidance will depend to a large extent on the uptake of the DAFNE programme.' - NICE Technical Appraisal 60 April 2003

The 2004 report² from the working party set up to support the development of structured education to meet NICE Guidance and NSF delivery strategy also cites DAFNE as an example of a programme for Type 1 diabetes that meets these criteria.
